Most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men. Treatment decisions depend on the stage of disease, Gleason grade, imaging findings, and individual patient factors.
Mr Dundee specialises in robotic prostatectomy, including the Retzius-sparing technique, and works with patients across the full spectrum of prostate cancer care, from active surveillance through to complex surgical cases.
Often detected early and frequently curable
Kidney cancer is often found incidentally during imaging for unrelated conditions. Early-stage kidney cancer is frequently curable with surgery; however, some small kidney cancers may be safely managed with active surveillance rather than immediate treatment. The key decision is often whether the tumour can be removed while preserving the kidney (partial nephrectomy), or whether removal of the entire kidney is required.
Mr Dundee manages both benign and malignant renal masses and discusses all surgical options with patients in detail before any decision is made.
Management depends on stage and disease behaviour
Bladder cancer ranges from low-grade, non-muscle-invasive disease requiring surveillance and endoscopic treatment, to high-grade or muscle-invasive disease that may require more significant intervention including cystectomy.
